Congratulations Luke!

Luke is an All-State Musician!  He placed 1st in Area (there are 7 in the state of Texas) for Trumpet and will be in the 4A Symphonic All-State Band.  Luke will audition one more time to determine his chair placement in the Band.  He is also auditioning at SMU and Sam Houston in February.  Congratulate him and wish him the best with these wonderful opportunities!  We are very proud of him!

(If you don’t know what All-State Band is, then read on…..)

All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive.  More than 1,500 musicians are selected from more than 55,000 who audition to perform in one of 13 ensembles (bands, orchestras and choirs).  Beginning with auditions that are hosted by 28 TMEA Regions, individual musicians perform selected pieces for a panel of judges who rank the instrument or vocal part.  Top ranking musicians then advance to compete in one of seven area contests for selection to the All-State Band or Music Group.

P.S. Both Luke and Kirk, his Freshman brother, are playing in the All-Region Band this Friday.  My Dad is visiting from the frozen north to attend this concert on his birthday, January 25.  We look forward to visiting with you all on Sunday and celebrating many blessings!

In a Word

We are so very blessed by this church family!  It is beyond description!  The exercise this morning "In a Word" was extraordinary.  I witnessed a very moving peek into the hearts of those I call family.  I was amazed at the level of sharing and reality.  I thank all of you.  Thank you for trusting me with your heart's confession.  Thank you for teaching me how to trust you with my confession.

Vision Workshop

I was so happy to have been able to attend some of the Vision workshop on Saturday at the North Pointe Church of Christ building!  It was a bit cold and very wet (if you know me, you know what it took to get me to the building away from my nice cozy fireplace!).  It was well worth it!  We had some good discussion about the next step to grow spiritually and be people of God in our community.  Thanks to all of you who organized this event!  This blog is in direct response to that workshop!

This graphic was presented and the question asked "Where do we see North Pointe in this model"?

My personal response was that the people of North Pointe are ready for Action!

I hope that by beginning an maintaining this blog for North Pointe and our neighbors that we can improve communication and get to know one another, encourage one another and love one another even more than we do now!

Welcome to Our Blog!

Hello Friends!  Welcome to our new blog page!  I hope that you will check in often to hear more about your friends and neighbors, news and stuff about Northpointe Church of Christ and surrounding neighborhoods.

This is for all of us so feel free to chime in on the comments section or let me know if there is something you would like to see here.  I'll be calling on different ghost writers from time to time so y'all won't have to hear me ramble on and on.

A few things to keep in mind:

1.  This is casual.  No grades for grammar will be given.
2.  This is not the complaint department.  (I've got a nifty little song I'll share if you like, but the verse goes something like this, "Do everything without complaining so that you will remain blameless and pure children of God".
3.  This is a place for all of us to share ourselves and ideas bringing our little piece of North Texas closer to heaven.

So, without further adieu..

See you Sunday! :)
